Why this is notable practice

The superintendent pharmacist had identified a risk that not all pharmacy team members were able to keep up to date with the amount of information being received in relation to Covid-19.

How the pharmacy did this

The pharmacy was receiving a summary daily news letter at around Midday each day to support its team members in understanding the latest news and guidance relating to Covid-19. The pharmacy’s superintendent pharmacist was responsible for sifting through the large volume of information being received about the outbreak. And was providing a one-page summary of key points the team needed to know to support it in providing its service safely during the pandemic.

What difference this made to patients

Pharmacy team members are able to focus their time on providing frontline services to people visiting the pharmacy. And the daily news bulletin means they are kept up to date with the latest developments in a timely and consistent manner.
