Pharmacy context
The pharmacy is within a GP surgery in the village of Wickersley, close to Rotherham in South Yorkshire. Its main services include dispensing NHS prescriptions and providing NHS consultation services to people. These include the New Medicine Service (NMS), blood pressure checks and the Pharmacy First service. The pharmacy sells pharmacy (P) medicines, and it supplies some medicines in multi-compartment compliance packs, designed to help people remember to take their medicines. It also offers a medicine delivery service.
This was a reinspection following an inspection in October 2024 where the pharmacy did not meet Standards 3.1, 3.4 and 4.3. This reinspection focused on those Standards which had previously not been met. The pharmacy has improved against all these standards. It is now suitably clean, and workspace is better organised. Although space in the pharmacy remains limited, appropriate action has been taken to ensure the working environment is safe for team members to work in. And the security concerns identified during the last inspection have been fully addressed. Medicines requiring secure storage are now stored in a suitably locked cabinet as the law requires. And team members conduct and record daily temperature checks for all of the pharmacy's fridges. The team are also carrying out regular checks of its stock medicines.
