Inspection outcome: Standards met

Last inspection: 27/01/2025

Pharmacy context

This is a distance selling pharmacy which opened in June 2023. People access the pharmacy’s services through its website www.weprescribe.co.uk. The pharmacy does not have an NHS contract and the only activity is dispensing private prescriptions issued after a consultation with the pharmacist independent prescriber. The website offers medicines for a range of conditions, but the pharmacy mainly supplies medicines to support weight loss.

This was a desktop inspection following an inspection in August 2024 where the pharmacy did not meet Standard 1.1. This reinspection focused on the Standard which had previously not been met. Since the last inspection, the pharmacy has implemented new processes to independently verify the information that a person provides during the consultation process before it issues a prescription and supplies them with weight loss medicines. This is now a standard part of the pharmacy’s processes. It has also updated its website and written procedures to accommodate the new processes, and it has provided evidence to show that the processes are being followed in practice.
