Quantum Pharmacy (1111188)

Inspection outcome: Standards met

Last inspection: 14/01/2025

Pharmacy context

This pharmacy has an NHS distance selling contract and it specialises in providing pharmacy services to care homes. The pharmacy is located in a unit on an industrial estate and people cannot visit this pharmacy in person. Services and information can be accessed through the pharmacy’s website, www.quantummeds.co.uk.

This was a reinspection following an inspection in July 2024 where the pharmacy did not meet Standards 1.1 and 2.2 but was meeting the other standards. This reinspection focused on those Standards which had previously not been met. Following the last inspection, the pharmacy had reviewed its responsible pharmacist standard operating procedures, and the pharmacy team had received refresher training on what tasks can and cannot be carried out in the absence of a pharmacist. The pharmacy has updated its approach towards risk assessments and how it responds to incidents. The pharmacy previously had some team members who were working in the dispensary and were not registered on accredited training courses. They had since been enrolled on the courses and were receiving regular training time to work through the course material.
