Phakeys Pharmacy (1109436)

Inspection outcome: Standards met

Last inspection: 22/10/2025

Since January 2025 our inspection reports are more concise and accessible - find out more about the changes

Pharmacy context

This is a community pharmacy situated in a row of shops on the outskirts of the city centre. Most of its activity is dispensing NHS prescriptions and selling medicines over the counter. The pharmacy supplies medicines in multi‐compartment compliance packs to people who live in their own homes. It also provides the substance misuse service and offers other services such as Pharmacy First.
This was a reinspection following an inspection in March 2025 where the pharmacy did not meet Standards 1.2, 4.3 and 5.2. This reinspection focused on those Standards which had previously not been met. The pharmacy now has processes in place to discuss, record and review any dispensing mistakes. The outcomes are shared with the pharmacy team. The pharmacy has also introduced procedures to make sure that all medicines are stored appropriately and, because of this, it now has sufficient facilities to store its medicines safely.
