Pharmacy context
This community pharmacy is situated on a main road in a residential area of Smallthorne, Stoke-on-Trent. The pharmacy dispenses NHS prescriptions, private prescriptions and sells over-the-counter medicines. It also provides a range of services including the NHS Pharmacy First service and emergency hormonal contraception. The pharmacy supplies medicines in multi-compartment compliance packs to some people to help them take their medicines at the right time.
This was a reinspection following an inspection in January 2025 where the pharmacy did not meet Standards 1.6 and 4.3. The pharmacy has taken appropriate action following the previous inspection such as keeping an accurate electronic Responsible Pharmacist (RP) record and it maintained clear records of patient returned controlled drugs (CDs). It had also stored its higher-risk medicines in accordance with legislation.
