Cape Hill Pharmacy (1085356)

Inspection outcome: Standards not all met

Last inspection: 05/02/2025

Since January 2025 our inspection reports are more concise and accessible - find out more about the changes

Pharmacy context

This is a traditional community pharmacy is located next to a medical centre in a residential area of Smethwick in the West Midlands. People who use the pharmacy are from the local community and they usually collect their prescriptions from the pharmacy. The pharmacy team dispenses some medicines into multi-compartment compliance packs for people to help make sure they remember to take them.

This was an inspection of the pharmacy to follow up on information of concern received by the GPhC about the pharmacy’s involvement in providing an online service including the supply of Pharmacy-only and General Sales List medicines via a third-party digital platform. This service had been introduced since the last inspection. Not all the standards were inspected on this occasion. The pharmacy was last inspected in September 2024 and all standards were met.

What do the inspection outcomes mean?

After an inspection each pharmacy receives one overall outcome. This will be either Standards met or Standards not all met

Met The pharmacy has met all the standards for registered pharmacies
Not all met The pharmacy has not met one or more of the standards for registered pharmacies

What does 'pharmacy has not met all standards' mean?

When a pharmacy has not met all standards, they are required to complete an improvement action plan, which you can find via a link at the top left of this page. We monitor progress to check the improvements are made and inspect again after six months to make sure the pharmacy is maintaining these improvements. A new report will then be published.
