Pharmacy context

This community pharmacy is situated in a retail part near to the town centre of Southport, in Merseyside. The pharmacy dispenses NHS prescriptions, private prescriptions and sells over-the-counter medicines. It also provides a range of services including seasonal flu vaccinations, and the NHS Pharmacy First service. The pharmacy supplies some people with medicines in multi-compartment compliance packs to help them take their medicines at the right time. The pharmacy opening hours differ to that of the larger retail store that it is situated within.

This was a reinspection following an inspection in August 2025 where the pharmacy did not meet Standards 1.1 and 3.4. This reinspection focused on those Standards which had previously not been met. The pharmacy has taken the necessary action to review its procedures and retrain staff to ensure they understand the procedures. Improvements have been made to the pharmacy to increase the safeguards in place to help prevent access to unauthorised areas by members of the public.
