1.2

The pharmacy does not have written risk assessments for the aesthetic services it provides. So, it cannot show how it is managing risks effectively to provide its services safely. Members of the team do not consistently record things that go wrong so they can learn from them and may miss some opportunities to improve.

Write risk assessment for aesthetic supply service – include pharmacist/locum/ACT guide to anyone new to aesthetics

Staff and locums reminded of importance in recording our near misses.

We already use training certificates and if people cannot find proof of training we ask for insurance documents to ascertain that people prescribing or people administering these treatments are appropriately trained an insured, we will look into ways to make proof of training ideal (but people do struggle to find these if they have been working in the industry for a long time) and insurance certificate mandatory as this will be easy to find as renewed on a yearly basis. We will also discuss with the development team ways we can record expiry dates, so the system can request fresh updates before expiration of insurance.

We will ensure that the prescriber has to add an indication for each product – and that this indication/usage instructions are also present on the dispensary labels to ensure the administering practitioner knows exactly what the product is used for, and the dispensary team know they are making a suitable supply for patient safety. We will also add a tick box to confirm the administering practitioner is trained and insured to use the product
