The pharmacy does not keep all the records it needs to correctly. This includes records about controlled drugs and private prescriptions.

Private prescriptions – all staff are currently being trained to complete these correctly.

Unlicensed specials – staff are now aware to keep all paperwork and KL and EB to complete the conformity forms.

CDs – since the inspection, the authorised destruction officer has visited. All out-of-date and patient return CDs have been destroyed and CD balances are correct. Pharmacists are aware the need to keep on top of balance checks.

The pharmacy does not store all its medicines correctly, as required by law.

Out of date medicines – a matrix is now in place and the Saturday staff are being tasked to complete the date checks as soon as possible.

MDS – open trays are now being covered by the sealing cards whilst waiting for the pharmacist check.
