Doctors Dispensing Services Ltd (9011489) - Improvement action plan

Standard not met Reason Action being taken by the Pharmacy By when Notification By Pharmacy Improvements Made
1.6

The pharmacy does not always record details of issued private prescriptions within required timeframes and therefore records are not accurately maintained as required.

PMR system has now been adapted to record the private prescription register. This will commence from 10/09/24 and means that no prescriptions will be added to the backlog.

The pharmacy will open an additional day a week to only process the backlog of prescriptions, and this will continue until the backlog has gone.

1.1

The pharmacy does not identify and manage all the risks for the provision of medicines at a distance. And it does not have documented risk assessments to ensure dispensing is safe and effective.

A Risk Assessment will be completed for every medication provided in the past year and then going forward for any new additional medication before accepting to supply.

Complete a Risk Assessment for the complete service provided by Doctors Dispensing Services including the dispensing process.

1.2

The pharmacy does not sufficiently review the safety and quality of its service. It does not suitably audit its dispensing to ensure it makes appropriate supplies.

Complete an audit of the dispensing service and review annually ongoing, or if an error occurs whichever is more recent.
