Twilight Pharmacy (9011280) - Improvement action plan

Procedures for storing medicines that require cold chain conditions require improvement. Vaccine stock is not stored in appropriate condtions in accordance with relevant guidance. The pharmacy does not accurately or consistently monitor and record its fridge temperatures so it can so it can show medicines are stored in the right conditions. And it does not have an effective process for managing undelivered home deliveries containing cold chain medicines to ensure they are promptly and correctly returned to refrigerated storage until supply.

All fridge items to be stored in a pharmacy graded fridge and or fridge with thermometer as required.

Records of temperatures to be recorded daily on Proscript and reviewed by the RP.

All deliveries should have Fridge/CD stickers to ensure that any non delivered items with these labels are handed to the appropriate staff upon return of driver.
