Badham Pharmacy Ltd (9010574) - Improvement action plan

Standard not met Reason Action being taken by the Pharmacy By when Notification By Pharmacy Improvements Made
1.1

There is evidence that standard operating procedures are not followed and this is a risk to people's safety. And, most of the services that the pharmacy provides are high-risk and sometimes there are not enough staff to do this safely.

I have had a concern meeting with our driver at this branch on Monday 13th May 2019 , he has been told to adhere to the SOPs . The SOPs clearly state that he must PP and sign the delivery sheet, if the patient is unable to sign. He will follow this process from now.

2.1

The pharmacy does not always have enough staff to manage their workload safely.

The Company is advertising for technicians in Gloucestershire at the moment. In addition we are working with the Gloucestershire College to obtain an apprentice. As soon as we are able, we will provide an extra member of staff on a Monday and Wednesday.

2.5

There is evidence that insufficient action has been taken when individuals of the pharmacy team have raised legitimate concerns.

I have examined email exchanges between the branch and the head office relating to concerns about staffing levels. These concerns were addressed and the previous pharmacy manager thanked the head office for their support. I do not consider there is a case to answer

4.2

There is evidence that pharmacy services are provided in a way that puts people's safety at risk.

Weekly multi-compartment compliance aids will only be delivered through the letterbox in exceptional circumstances. The SOP has been amended to ensure this will be so.
