Jhoots Pharmacy (1109566) - Improvement action plan

Standard not met Reason Action being taken by the Pharmacy By when Notification By Pharmacy Improvements Made
1.1

The pharmacy has not implemented standard operating procedures to support its team members in managing the risks with some aspects of its multi-compartment compliance pack service. And there is evidence that things have gone wrong with this service.

SI sent two SOPs on dispensing and supply of Medisure Boxes (see attachment) to be read and signed by the staff. SI also spoken to team to keep any patients that are not on monthly stable medicines to be made in branch and to only send patients to the hub that have stable monthly medicines. Any complex patients will continue to have dosette boxes made in the pharmacy. SI also discussed with manager the need for any patients who wish to continue to have their dossett boxes made in branch and not sent to the hub to continue to do so.

2.2

Not all pharmacy team members are working towards completing a GPhC accredited training programme to support them in achieving the knowledge and skills required for their role. This means there is an increased risk of something going wrong due to limiting the skill development of trainee team members.

Staff member been enrolled onto an accredited training programme following previous inspection. But had not accessed log-in details to start this learning. Staff member now has log-in details. And support for learning has been discussed with manager.
