Limes Pharmacy (1101423) - Improvement action plan

Pharmacy stock is not well managed. There are out of date medicines in the dispensary and in the shop. Medicines are not always stored in their original packaging, so the batch number and expiry date are not available. Mixed batches are stored the same box on the dispensary shelves.

All out of date medication is to be removed immediately. All staff are to read and sign the SOPs regarding date checking. All split packs are to remain in their original containers. A date checking chart it to be placed within the dispensary and to be signed by members of staff once date checking has been conducted at the end of each month.
