The pharmacy does not maintain the records it needs to by law.

CD registers is all collated and recorded in paper copy.

Overage of liquid balances is now done on monthly basis.

The private prescription folder
is organised properly and staff are
prompted to record prescriber details and date of prescription.

The patient returned booklet is kept in
appropriate place for ease of access.

RP is highlighted the importance to keep RP register up to date as well as to ensure notice is corrected.

The error report log process has been
further explained to write in more detail upon an incident to staff.

The pharmacy does not always ensure that people’s personal information is adequately protected.

Staff have been explained the danger of
having a sales representative in area where personal information of patients is visible can cause issues, and to carry out these discussions in shop floor or consultation area.

The pharmacy does not manage its risks appropriately, particularly with being able to account for all of its controlled drugs.

All the controlled drugs and registers have been collated and completed fully, and the registers are vigorously checked and accounted for upon dispensing and
receiving of CD drugs.

The pharmacy does not always ensure that team are undergoing training appropriate for their role.

All staff that are not currently enrolled on a course will be enrolled within a month to a course, this being to a course that will benefit their selective roles within the
pharmacy.

As well as to ensure everyone has
completed safeguarding training.

The pharmacy does not keep its premises tidy and there are tripping and slipping hazards.

All staff have been prompted on safety and necessity to keep the pharmacy clear and clutter free to avoid any hazards.

The pharmacy does not always manage its medicines properly or store them securely.

All medication have now been checked
thoroughly the process we did was:
- all expired medication was disposed off correctly
- If and when original box was not
available, storage within a white box
needs to entail batch number and expiry date.
- Any split packs are not to be combined and importance of mixed batches is explained as a mix of expiry dates will cause issues.
- Near to expired medications are labelled correctly and clearly to alert staff upon dispensing.
- Stock and shelves are checked on
monthly basis for expiry.
