Ensure colleagues are trained on informing the RP to complete the RP record accurately.

Some pharmacy team members have not read the standard operating procedures that underpin the services they provide. So they may not be able to demonstrate that they fully understand their role or responsibilities. And there is a risk that they may not be able to provide pharmacy services safely and effectively.

We have reviewed the training for all our colleagues. Of the 11 colleagues we have digital training records (DTR) for SOPs for 6 colleagues that were last updated in 2020. The remainder of the 5 colleagues have joined from 2022 and we have been unable to find any training record cards for SOPs for them. As a next step we are prioritising SOP training for the 5 colleagues that haven’t got a record. The remainder of the colleagues will also review the SOP’s and update their training record cards.
