Standard not met Reason Action being taken by the Pharmacy By when Notification By Pharmacy Improvements Made
1.3

The pharmacy does not do not do enough to ensure that all staff fully understand the procedures they should follow. This means that not all staff are carrying out their tasks as the pharmacist intends them to.

SI comments:All the staff, expected to remain working at the pharmacy, with training needs, are now on a GPhC approved training programme provided by the NPA. More details will be captured and recorded to maximise the learnings we are drawing from our mistakes, such that our services are continuously improved.

4.3

the pharmacy does not label all of its medicines appropriately, once they have been opened or removed from their original packs. This means that it may be more difficult for them to identify those medicines if there was a problem.

SI Comments:All dispensary staff have been briefed on the minimum requirements of labelling medicines out of their original packaging. All containers that do not meet the required standards have now been removed from storage and disposed appropriately
