The risks associated with providing safe pharmacy services are not adequately identified and managed. SOPs are out of date. And actions from previous inspections, such as near miss records, staff or premises maintenance issues, are not maintained in the long term.

Response from owner - I hope to fulfill all the requirements as mentioned in the report to acceptable standards.
Note from inspector - the pharmacy will be revisited shortly after the completion date to ensure the standards are being met.

Visit to pharmacy on 7 June 2022 - owner has reviewed the SOPs, found the near miss record and will start recording and reviewing, a link to the Learn from patient safety events (LFPSE) service added to computer terminal for error recording.

The pharmacy premises are not maintained to an appropriate standard required for the provision of pharmacy services.

Visit to pharmacy on 7 June 2022 - some improvements have been made, especially with the consultation room and the sink area in the dispensary. Still some work to do to clear old and excess stock to ensure the premises provided an environment suitable for the provision of healthcare services. The pharmacy team have been slowed in this standard by limited space in the bins and only having 2 members of staff. Re-visit in 6-weeks to check on progress.

Electrical equipment is showing signs of wear and tear and has not been checked by a professional to ensure that it is safe to use.

Visit to pharmacy on 7 June 2022 - the owner explained that an electrician has visited and checked the electrical equipment, Some equipment has been replaced and the upstairs lighting has been fixed.
