Coast Road Pharmacy (1037719) - Improvement action plan

Standard not met Reason Action being taken by the Pharmacy By when Notification By Pharmacy Improvements Made
4.2

The pharmacy doesn't have a documented process or sufficient safeguards in place to ensure that potentially vulnerable people who receive their medicines through their letterbox do so safely. It doesn't have risk assessments available for the process and the team doesn't regularly review each person's circumstances to ensure these practices remain safe.

The pharmacy has recently changed management and when asked to present materials evidencing the routine delivery process the staff involved were unable to locate the relevant documents.

The team are all aware of where the GPhC evidence folder is now located as well as other documents that may be referred to in later inspections.

The pharmacy does follow safety protocols and risk mitigation principles however on the day of visit the inspector was unable to be presented with said material.

Everyone in the pharmacy will continue to carry out their tasks and safeguarding responsibilities to the best of their ability.
