Crystal Pharmacy (1034945) - Improvement action plan

Standard not met Reason Action being taken by the Pharmacy By when Notification By Pharmacy Improvements Made
4.3

The pharmacy does not have sufficiently robust procedures for managing its medicines in the way it should. And it does not always store them in the appropriate packaging.

The pharmacy has obtained several sizes of tablet cartons to use for dispensing medicines when a full pack is not prescribed.

Medicines prescribed in split-pack quantities will be supplied to patients in a white carton containing all the appropriate information, together with copy of the patient information
leaflet.

The remainder of the contents will be retained in the original manufacturer’s pack, which will be placed back into stock. The remaining split pack will be marked to show that the pack is no longer full but can be used still for future dispensing.
