Pharmacy team to ensure that stock is stored in an organised, tidy manner to reduce the risk of error. Split packs containing mixed batches are to be disposed of appropriately and staff trained on procedures to follow when dispensing split packs. And also to ensure that team members do not order excess stock which puts pressure on storage facilities. The Superintendent (SP) to seek authority to destroy obsolete CDs and also to destroy patient returned CDs with the RP appropriately. The SP to direct staff how to segregate and record patient returned CDs and their destruction. And to segregate out of date CD stock. All multi-compartment compliance packs to include BNF advisory warnings and clear labelling. |
