Extreme fluctuations in temperature and dampness in the storage area mean the environment is not suitable for storing medicines and medical devices.

With reference to the storage area an air conditioning unit is available to bring the temperature down should the temperature rise above 25C.Should this not be adequate arrangements have been made to move the medicines to cooler parts of the pharmacy until the temperature is brought under control.
The leak on the water pipe has been rectified.

The pharmacy has inadequate medicines management procedures which include irregular temperature monitoring in the storage area.?

Interventions will be entered on the patients PMR as they occur.
PIL’s will be supplied with each set of compliance aids.
Ensure that the fridge temperature records are kept up to date.
No deblistered medication to be kept without correct labelling.
Ensure the temperature record of the storage area is kept up to date.
