The pharmacy is not routinely safeguarding people's confidential information. There is confidential information constantly left in an unlocked consultation room, the team is storing dispensed prescriptions in here which means that sensitive information and prescription-only medicines can be easily accessed from the retail area. The pharmacy does not inform people about how their private information is maintained, and people's sensitive information can be seen from the way signatures are obtained during the delivery service

A review of the confidential information that is being stored in the consultation room will be conducted with steps taken to ensure any confidential information is removed or maintained securely.

A poster will be displayed to inform patients about how their private information is maintained.

Information for delivery patients, this process will be reviewed to ensure that no sensitive information can be seen by other patients.

Pharmacy services are not provided from an environment that is appropriate for the provision of healthcare services. Most of the pharmacy is extremely cluttered, this includes the consultation room. The dispensary is also too small to support the pharmacy's current volume of dispensing

Clutter will be removed from the consultation room.

A wider review of the dispensary will be conducted to assess appropriateness for the volume of dispensing.

The pharmacy is unable to fully verify that it has been storing medicines requiring refrigeration at the appropriate temperatures

The fridge function will be investigated and records audited.
A replacement fridge will be put in situ, if necessary, to ensure medicines are stored at appropriate temperatures.
Refresher training will also be given to the team to ensure they follow processes to deal with variations.
A review of the stock holding will be conducted to ensure that the fridge is not over-filled, preventing adequate airflow and fridge function.
