There are not enough members of staff in the pharmacy to effectively manage the workload.

Every Superdrug pharmacy has an hour’s model to ensure that staffing levels are appropriate in order that we can run our pharmacies safely and effectively. At the time of the inspection, we had some team members off sick. Since the inspection all members of staff are back to work, and they have successfully hired 1 additional member of pharmacy support staff. All members of the team have been asked to revisit the business continuity plan, to reinforce their knowledge of this should there be occasions of staff sickness in the future, and to remind them they can activate this if necessary. These actions have been overseen by the regional healthcare manager to ensure all team members are confident with referring to and activating the business continuity plan.
