Pharmacy context
This is a private pharmacy which is closed to members of the public and it provides its services at a distance. It is situated in an industrial estate and it dispenses specific controlled drugs for private prescriptions received from Care Quality Commission (CQC) registered clinics. The pharmacy does not have an NHS contract to supply medicines against any community-issued NHS prescriptions. The company is registered with the MHRA and holds a Wholesale Dealers Authorisation and Home Office License.
This was a reinspection of the pharmacy following an inspection in August 2024 where the pharmacy was found to be not meeting standards 1.1, 1.5, 2.2 and 4.4, but was meeting the other standards. This reinspection focused mainly on those standards which had previously not been met. Following the last inspection, the pharmacy had reviewed its standard operating procedures. It had updated its complaints procedures so that the team had oversight of the outcomes of the complaints people had made to the clinics. It had also undertaken risk assessments of the unlicenced medicines it was supplying and had implemented procedures to report adverse events about medicines under the Yellow Card Scheme. Previously, the pharmacy had some team members who were working in the dispensary who were not enrolled on accredited training courses. These team members had since been enrolled on the required courses and were in the process of completing them.
