Pharmacy context

An independent pharmacy located within a parade of shops. The pharmacy serves a large number of customers of Greek, Asian and Eastern European origin.

The pharmacy dispenses approximately 3,000 items per month and provides several services including medicine use reviews (MURs), new medicine service (NMS), minor ailment scheme, prescription collection and delivery service, needle exchange and MDS trays to 10 domiciliary patients. Emergency hormonal contraception, erectile dysfunction, malaria prophylaxis, salbutamol, weight loss and flu vaccine services were also available via patient group directions (PGD’s).

The opening hours are: Monday to Friday 9am – 6pm and Saturday 9am – 1pm.

Met The pharmacy has met all the standards for registered pharmacies
Not all met The pharmacy has not met one or more of the standards for registered pharmacies

What do the summary findings for each principle mean?

The standards for registered pharmacies are made up of five principles. The pharmacy will also receive one of four possible findings for each of these principles. These are:

Good practice The pharmacy delivers positive outcomes for patients and performs well against most of the standards
