Pharmacy context
This pharmacy is in a residential area in Batley. It has a distance selling NHS contract. Pharmacy team members dispense NHS prescriptions and delivers them to people’s homes. Team members provide other services, such as the NHS New Medicine Service (NMS). And they provide medicines to some people in multi-compartment compliances packs to help them take their medicines at the right time.
This was a reinspection following an inspection in October 2024 where the pharmacy did not meet Standards 1.1, 1.2, 2.2 and 4.3. This reinspection focused on those Standards which had previously not been met. Since the last inspection, the pharmacy has implemented risk assessments to help manage the risks of providing medicines to people at a distance. It has improved how it records and learns from mistakes made by team members when dispensing. It has enrolled all team members on relevant accredited training courses for their roles. And it now properly monitors and records fridge temperatures to make sure medicines are stored appropriately.
