Pharmacy context

This is an independent pharmacy situated off a main road, in a parade of shops on a residential area. Its main activity is dispensing NHS prescriptions. The pharmacy provides the Pharmacy First service, Hypertension Case-Finding service, free contraception, flu vaccination service and dispenses veterinary prescriptions. It can also arrange deliveries of medications to people in the community. This was a desktop reinspection following an inspection in March 2026 where the pharmacy did not meet Standards 1.7 and 4.4. This reinspection focused on those Standards which had previously not been met. The pharmacy provided evidence that it has relocated the bagged medicines awaiting collection into the dispensary to ensure confidentiality is maintained. And it maintains records to show that drug alerts are now dealt with promptly to ensure all stock is fit for use.
