Pharmacy context
A branch of a chain of pharmacies. This branch is situated in a busy market. The pharmacy dispenses approximately 2000 items per month. As well as core services the pharmacy offers: MUR, NMS, flu and pneumococcal vaccinations, minor ailments and needle exchange. The pharmacy was also part of the Superdrug online doctor scheme. The pharmacy also supplied buprenorphine/methadone on instalment prescriptions to approximately 11 patients, 5 of whom were supervised. An MDS service is provided to approximately 7 patients all based in the community. The pharmacy was closed on Sunday, whilst the store was open. A new pharmacy manager had taken over two weeks ago prior to which the pharmacy had been run by locum pharmacists.
