Pharmacy context

The pharmacy is based within a resource centre, which includes some medical practices, in Shiremoor, North Tyneside. It mainly dispenses NHS prescriptions and sells a range of over-the-counter medicines. The pharmacy provides a range of NHS consultation services including Pharmacy First, blood pressure checks and the New Medicine Service (NMS). The pharmacy supplies medicines in multi-compartment compliance packs to some people, to help them remember to take their medicines. And it offers a medicine delivery service This was a reinspection following an inspection in March 2026 where the pharmacy did not meet Standard 1.6. This reinspection focused on the Standard which had previously not been met. The pharmacy has made improvements in the records it maintains for higher risk medications. This includes ensuring records are made in a timely manner, in line with legal requirements, as well as maintaining a running stock balance and performing regular checks of this balance against the stock levels.
