Prestonlinks Pharmacy (1042038)

Inspection outcome: Standards met

Last inspection: 30/10/2025

Since January 2025 our inspection reports are more concise and accessible - find out more about the changes

Pharmacy context

This is a pharmacy on a high street in the seaside village of Prestonpans in Lothian. Its main activities are dispensing NHS prescriptions and providing some people with their medicines in multi-compartment compliance packs to help them take their medicines properly. It delivers medicines to some people in their homes. And it provides NHS services such as NHS Pharmacy First.

This was a reinspection following an inspection December 2024 where the pharmacy did not meet Standards 1.1, 1.2 and 4.3. This reinspection focused on those Standards which had previously not been met and the core Standards relating to patient safety. Not all the Standards were inspected on this occasion. Since the last inspection, team members are recording and learning from the dispensing mistakes they make, and the pharmacy has made appropriate improvements as to how it stores medicines safely. But the pharmacy doesn’t have a full range of up-to-date written procedures available for the team.

What do the summary findings for each principle mean?
