Pharmacy context
This is a traditional community pharmacy located in Saltney, Chester. NHS dispensing is the main activity, and the pharmacy also provides a number of other NHS services including Pharmacy First and it sells a range of over-the-counter medicines.
This was a reinspection following an inspection in October 2024 where the pharmacy did not meet Standards 1.2, 3.1, 4.2, 4.3, 5.1 and 5.2. This reinspection focused on those Standards which had previously not been met. Since the last inspection, team members had started making records of mistakes that were identified during the dispensing process. Areas of the premises had been cleaned and renovated to ensure they were safe and some equipment including the pharmacy fridge had been replaced. However, the pharmacy had not addressed issues involving the ordering of stock medicines. And it had not developed a robust process for ordering stock to fulfil prescriptions. So, people continued to experience delays in receiving their medicines in a timely manner.

What does 'pharmacy has not met all standards' mean?
When a pharmacy has not met all standards, they are required to complete an improvement action plan, which you can find via a link at the top left of this page. We monitor progress to check the improvements are made and inspect again after six months to make sure the pharmacy is maintaining these improvements. A new report will then be published.
