Pharmacy context
This is a closed pharmacy which is not accessible to members of the public. It dispenses NHS prescriptions for people who reside in care homes. Some of these medicines are supplied in in multi-compartment compliance packs to help people take their medicines at the right time. It also sells and supplies weight loss medicines through its website 'www.medicinemarketplace.com'.
This was a reinspection following an inspection in June 2025 where the pharmacy did not meet Standards 1.1, 1.2, and 4.2. This reinspection focused on those Standards which had previously not been met. The pharmacy stopped selling ‘Pharmacy only’ medicines through its website, which addressed some of the standards which were previously not met. The pharmacy had changed its business model which affected the delivery of the action plan. It had created a written risk assessment for the services currently provided. But the risk assessment does not effectively manage all the risks associated with the services it provides. For example, some people may be able to obtain medicines without sufficient checks being made, therefore Standard 1.1 remains not met. The pharmacy completed audits of its services, including assessing adherence to policies and the expected timescales for deliveries, therefore Standard 1.2 has been met. The pharmacy checks the age of people using its services using official identity records. But it does not always verify people’s weight and height using independent methods, and it does not directly inform people’s GP. So the pharmacy is unable to demonstrate how it manages the risks associated with prescribing weight loss medicines at a distance. Therefore Standard 4.2 remains not met.

What does 'pharmacy has not met all standards' mean?
When a pharmacy has not met all standards, they are required to complete an improvement action plan, which you can find via a link at the top left of this page. We monitor progress to check the improvements are made and inspect again after six months to make sure the pharmacy is maintaining these improvements. A new report will then be published.
