Pharmacy context
This is a community pharmacy located in a parade of shops in a residential area; dispensing around 7000 items per month. Other services provided included: MUR, NMS, smoking cessation, blood pressure and cholesterol testing and flu vaccinations (approximately 160 provided last year). An MDS service is provided to approximately 80 patients all based in the community. Approximately six patients also received methadone/buprenorphine on instalment prescriptions of who four were supervised. The pharmacy had also been signed off on a PGD to provide Champix but had not started offering the service. The premises also had an MHRA wholesale dealer’s license.
