Pharmacy context

This community pharmacy is situated on a high street in the village of Gornal, Dudley. The pharmacy dispenses NHS prescriptions, private prescriptions and sells over-the-counter medicines. It also provides a range of services including the NHS Pharmacy First service. The pharmacy supplies medicines in multi-compartment compliance packs to some people to help them take their medicines at the right time.

This was a reinspection following an inspection in November 2024 where the pharmacy did not meet Standards 3.1 and 3.3. This reinspection focused on those Standards which had previously not been met. The pharmacy had taken steps to improve how it used the space it had available. A new dispensing workflow and been implemented, and the shelving had been tidied. This provided better use of the available space to allow services to be provided safely. A cleaner had been employed by the pharmacy to keep on top of its regular cleaning activity.
