Pharmacy context
This busy community pharmacy is located next to a medical centre. Most people who use the pharmacy are from the local area. The pharmacy dispenses NHS prescriptions, and it sells a range of over-the-counter medicines. And it provides a seasonal flu vaccination service, a Covid-19 vaccination service and some other NHS funded services including the Pharmacy First Service. It supplies some medicines in multi-compartment compliance aid packs to help people take their medicines at the right time.
This was a reinspection following an inspection in January 2025 where the pharmacy did not meet Standards 1.1, 1.2 and 4.3. This reinspection focused on those Standards which had previously not been met. Following the last inspection, the written procedures (SOPs) had been reviewed and read by most members of the team, and team members have started making records when things went wrong. The pharmacy has made other improvements, for example dispensary shelves had been tidied and most medicines were stored in their original packaging. But some areas of stock management require further improvement.

What do the inspection outcomes mean?

| The pharmacy has met all the standards for registered pharmacies | |
| The pharmacy has not met one or more of the standards for registered pharmacies |
What does 'pharmacy has not met all standards' mean?
When a pharmacy has not met all standards, they are required to complete an improvement action plan, which you can find via a link at the top left of this page. We monitor progress to check the improvements are made and inspect again after six months to make sure the pharmacy is maintaining these improvements. A new report will then be published.
