Pharmacy context
This pharmacy is situated in a parade of shops in the Cardiff Bay area. It sells a range of over‐the‐counter medicines and dispenses NHS and private prescriptions. The pharmacy offers a range of services including provision of emergency hormonal contraception, treatment for minor ailments and a seasonal influenza vaccination service.
This was a full re-inspection following an inspection in May 2025 where the pharmacy did not meet Standards 1.1, 1.6 and 4.3.
The pharmacy had previously provided assurances and evidence of improvements, including:
Standard 1.1: A copy of a risk assessment and standard operating procedure relating to the pharmacy’s weight management service.
Standard 1.6: An amended template for the pharmacy’s weight management service consultation record and assurances that records of higher-risk medicines and emergency supplies would be properly maintained in future.
Standard 4.3: Assurances that a robust date-checking procedure would be implemented and maintained.
