Pharmacy context

A medium sized store in a town centre; a larger branch was situated within walking distance of the store. Opening hours were: 9am-7pm Monday to Saturday and 11am-5pm on Sunday. A regular pharmacist covered the majority of the opening hours with regular pharmacists covering days off. The pharmacy dispensed around 6000-6500 NHS items per month. The pharmacy served a number of patients of south Asian Ethnic origin; a number of these could not speak English fluently. Services offered were: medicines use reviews; new medicines service text messaging service; prescription collection service; seasonal flu vaccinations (approximately 150 so far this season); a medicines dosage tray service for patients in the community.

Met The pharmacy has met all the standards for registered pharmacies
Not all met The pharmacy has not met one or more of the standards for registered pharmacies

What do the summary findings for each principle mean?

The standards for registered pharmacies are made up of five principles. The pharmacy will also receive one of four possible findings for each of these principles. These are:

Excellent practice The pharmacy delivers an innovative service and benefits the whole community and performs well against the standards
Good practice The pharmacy delivers positive outcomes for patients and performs well against most of the standards
Standards met The pharmacy meets all the standards
