Pharmacy context
The pharmacy is located within a superstore and is open for 100 hours each week.
Approximately 5,000 prescription items are dispensed each month, including for 14 patients supplied with compliance packs, and three substance abuse clinic patients one of whom has his Buprenorphine consumption supervised.
Services offered include over the counter (OTC) sales of human and veterinary medicines, NHS & private dispensing, medication use reviews (MURs), the new medicines service (NMS), a repeat prescription collection service and, under patient group directions, smoking cessation, malaria prophylaxis, treatment for erectile dysfunction, and seasonal ’flu vaccination.

What do the summary findings for each principle mean?
The standards for registered pharmacies are made up of five principles. The pharmacy will also receive one of four possible findings for each of these principles. These are:
