Pharmacy context
This pharmacy is closed to the public. It primarily provides dispensing services directly to prescribers and aesthetic practitioners. It is located in a small unit within an office building in the town of Hindley near Wigan, Greater Manchester. The pharmacy does not have an NHS contract, instead it specialises in supplying non-surgical cosmetic and aesthetic products, and consumables against private prescriptions generated by prescribers via its website https://aesthipharma.co.uk/.
This was a desktop inspection following an inspection in May 2025 where the pharmacy did not meet Standard 1.1. This reinspection focused on the Standard which had previously not been met. The pharmacy has updated its dispensing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and processes following the previous inspection. The SOP now requires a CQC registration number on the prescriber's account following receipt of a private prescription for weight loss medicines. In the absence of a CQC registration number, the pharmacy reviews the type of the prescriber, and if it is deemed that CQC registration is needed, the pharmacy will reject the prescription. The pharmacy has provided photo evidence of staff training for the updated SOPs, along with the updated computer records requiring details of CQC registration, and email evidence communicating the requirements to prescribers who use the pharmacy's services.
