| 1.1 | The pharmacy hasn’t completed a risk assessment of the online prescribing service it’s associated with as required by the GPhC’s guidance for registered pharmacies providing pharmacy services at a distance, including on the internet. It has some written procedures, but they don’t cover all the activities it undertakes especially in relation to the associated prescribing service. And the procedures don’t include all the things they need to by law. |
The pharmacy has now completed a comprehensive risk assessment specifically for the online prescribing service in line with GPhC guidance. Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are being updated to cover activities including prescription receipt and verification, posting high-risk medicines, failed deliveries, and third-party prescriber agreements. Formal agreements with prescribers are being drafted. Staff training sessions will be conducted to ensure full understanding of the updated procedures. All actions will be documented and reviewed regularly to maintain compliance. |

| 4.4 | The pharmacy can't show what action it has taken about previous safety alerts and recalls. This means it can't demonstrate that it responds appropriately to safety alerts and recalls, ensuring people only receive medicines which are suitable for use. |
Subscribed to the MHRA Drug Safety Update mailing list to ensure we receive all relevant alerts and recalls directly from the source. All MHRA alerts issued since the opening of the pharmacy have been retrospectively reviewed. No action was required for any of them, as the affected products were neither stocked nor supplied by our pharmacy. A SOP has been put in place for this activity and has been read and signed by the team. To support this process going forward, we have implemented a dedicated MHRA Alerts Logbook. This is updated regularly on daily basis. Each alert is reviewed and recorded, along with any actions taken — or, where applicable, a note stating, “no action required” (e.g. if the product is not stocked or supplied by the pharmacy). This ensures we maintain a clear audit trail and demonstrates our ongoing commitment to reviewing safety information and responding appropriately, in line with GPhC expectations. |
