Meso Pharmacy (9012341) - Improvement action plan

Standard not met Reason Action being taken by the Pharmacy By when Notification By Pharmacy Improvements Made
4.2

The pharmacy dispenses electronic private prescriptions for medicines and aesthetic products which are not valid as they do not contain all the required information. The pharmacy has plans to resolve this but it has not effectively implemented them.

Currently negotiating the build of a customised advanced electronic prescribing platform, which will replace the use of the current platform we are using. This will solve the issue of the prescriber’s address being included on all private prescriptions we dispense.
This new platform will also build a new database of prescribers to simplify internal audit processes. Once the agreement is in place for the prescribing platform build to go ahead (3-4 weeks from 19/02/26), the lead time we have been given for the build project itself is 6-8 weeks.

As an interim measure until the new platform is ready for use, we will be contacting all prescribers about the importance of including the clinic address they are prescribing from in the Prescription Notes section on signatureRx, which will then appear on the advanced electronic prescription sent through to us.
19/02/26: Email sent to all current prescribers explaining the importance of including their clinic address in the Prescription Notes, and that a repeated failure to do so will result in a delay in their order being processed until a valid prescription is received
