Standard not met | Reason | Action being taken by the Pharmacy | By when | Notification By Pharmacy Improvements Made |
---|---|---|---|---|
1.1 | The processes involved in running the pharmacy and its involvement in the online prescribing service under the current business model are not set out in the SOPs. The pharmacy’s written instructions require a review to update how it identifies and manages risk. The pharmacy does not adequately assess and document the risks involved in providing its services, particularly when dispensing prescriptions issued by its owner’s online prescribing service |
Private prescriptions are generally dispensed in the satellite pharmacy. The dispensing SOPs do reflect this. It is the NHS prescriptions that are transferred to the HUB for dispensing and then transferred back to the satellite for collection. The attached SOP titled Hub to Satellite lays out the process for this. |

1.2 | The safety and quality of the pharmacy services are not regularly reviewed and monitored. The pharmacy has not completed any recent audits to provide assurances that its services are safe, particularly when dispensing prescriptions issued by its owner’s online prescribing service. |
The audit we recently conducted was a near-miss audit. The next one planned will be a delivery audit by mid next year. |

1.8 | The pharmacy is not adequately safeguarding vulnerable people. It does not have a specific documented safeguarding policy to guide the team on the process to follow in the event of a concern for vulnerable people associated with the online prescribing service. |
SI want to make a note that the office pharmacy is not dispensing for the website and I have reflected that in the implementation plan |
