The pharmacy provides a dispensing hub service at a distance for other Pillbox pharmacies. But the pharmacy cannot demonstrate that it has considered and mitigated the risks associated with this service. For example, by undertaking an appropriate risk assessment. In addition, the pharmacy has standard operating procedures (SOPs). But the hub and spoke SOPs do not cover all aspects of the service. For example, it does not cover how people will be informed that their medicines are dispensed at the hub pharmacy.

1. Comprehensive risk assessment for the group Hub & Spoke service completed. Risk Assessment attached. 2. Hub & Spoke SOP updated to cover informing patients that their medication may be dispensed at the Hub Pharmacy. Revised SOP attached.

The pharmacy provides a dispensing service for Pillbox pharmacies, but it could not demonstrate how people were informed that their prescriptions were being dispensed at a hub in a separate pharmacy. So, it is not clear if people have given clear consent for the service to use their personal information.
