The pharmacy does not always obtain the appropriate consent from people when it provides its services. And it does not always dispose of its confidential waste properly.

New consent forms have been going out to all patients requiring them, they have a designated folder for safe keeping and easy access. Confidential waste now has designated bins that are labelled as such. All staff have been spoken to about the importance of confidential waste being disposed of in the appropriate manner.

The pharmacy does not always enroll its staff on the appropriate training courses within the required time periods.

All staff requiring training have been enrolled on the relevant course(s) they need for their job role. All staff have also opened and ELFH account to maintain and keep up to date their already acquired knowledge.

The pharmacy does not have a robust system to appropriately deal with safety alerts such as drug recalls.

A new folder specifically for safety alerts is now in the pharmacy. Two more members of staff have been given N.H.S emails and access to the pharmacy N.H.S email where safety alerts are sent. These are to be printed off put up on the wall in the dispensary then actioned before being signed and filed.
