Telephone House Pharmacy (1095341) - Improvement action plan

The pharmacy has discrepancies between actual stock counts and recorded stock counts for checked controlled drugs. The pharmacy needs to ensure that checks on medicine balances, in particular controlled drugs, are carried out regularly to prevent discrepancies. This will ensure that all medicines can be accounted for and assure the safe and secure handling of controlled drugs.

A team meeting was held following the inspection. All CD balances were checked and corrected. All staff involved with dispensing and CDs will balance check and immediately investigate any discrepancies using the report function on the PMR. A fortnightly balance check will also be completed.
