Skye Pharmacy (1093157) - Improvement action plan

The pharmacy team members don’t follow procedures and check that medicines stored in the fridge are kept at the correct temperature. They don’t identify when the equipment doesn’t work correctly or take the appropriate action. So, there is a risk that the pharmacy may supply medicines that are not fit for purpose.

The Pharmacy has ordered a new thermometer for the fridge. We have also asked the Pharmacist to train the staff on the importance of completing fridge temperatures every day. In addition to this we have asked for a copy of the fridge temperature chart to be sent through to the area manager at the end of every month to show that the branch has been completing these as asked.
