Skye Pharmacy (1093157) - Improvement action plan

The pharmacy team members don’t follow procedures and check that medicines stored in the fridge are kept at the correct temperature. They don't identify when the equipment doesn't work correctly or take the appropriate action. So, there is a risk that the pharmacy may supply medicines that are not fit for purpose.

All fridge stock isolated and quarantined. A calibrated Max / Min thermometer ordered with immediate effect.
Daily recording of fridge temperatures.
Fridge temperature to be maintained between 2 and 8 degrees centigrade. If temperatures found to be outside these limits, No fridge stock to be issued to customers / patients and any issued since last records to be recalled. Thankfully the fridge was operating correctly and no recall action needed to be initiated.
