Wainscott Pharmacy (1091080) - Improvement action plan

Standard not met Reason Action being taken by the Pharmacy By when Notification By Pharmacy Improvements Made
4.3

The pharmacy does not always keep its dispensing stock organised. There were several expired medicines found with dispensing stock during a spot check and a few boxes found contained mixed batches. This increases the chance of expired medicines being supplied. And makes it harder for the pharmacy to respond to safety alerts properly.

Date checking will be performed monthly. Pharmacy team will be using a spreadsheet to record any short-dated stock and their respective expiry date.

There will be labels stuck on the shelves to remind everyone in the pharmacy team to not mix different batch of tablets/capsules.

The pharmacy does not regularly record the temperatures for its fridges. So, the pharmacy is less able to demonstrate that the medicines inside are safe to use.

Temperatures are being recorded on the PMR system every morning when the shop opens, and reset after recording.
